Why You’ll Love the Raspberry Rose Fizz

Light, bubbly, and brimming with flavour — the Raspberry Rose Fizz is equal parts floral, fruity, and refreshing. Think of it as a garden party in a glass. This cocktail takes inspiration from the traditional “fizz” family, modernises it with raspberry and rose, and transforms it into a showpiece drink that feels indulgent without being heavy.

It’s the kind of cocktail that earns a second glance when you carry it across the room.

The Raspberry Rose Fizz

Raspberry Rose Fizz Recipe (Australian Measurements)

Glassware: Highball glass
Method: Shake, strain, top
Garnish: Fresh raspberries and rose petals

Ingredients (1 serve):

  • 45 ml gin (or vodka for a smoother base)

  • 20 ml raspberry syrup (or 15 ml raspberry liqueur for added punch)

  • 10 ml fresh lemon juice

  • 5 ml rose water (or 10 ml rose syrup if not using raspberry syrup)

  • 90–120 ml soda water (or sparkling wine for a celebratory version)

  • Fresh raspberries & rose petals, for garnish

Method:

  1. Chill your glass.

  2. Add gin/vodka, raspberry syrup, lemon juice, and rose water to a cocktail shaker with ice.

  3. Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds.

  4. Strain into a chilled highball filled with fresh ice.

  5. Top with soda water (or sparkling wine).

  6. Garnish with raspberries and rose petals.

KAD’s tip: Use rose water sparingly. A few extra drops can quickly overpower the balance of the drink.

Variations to Try

  • Herbal Twist: Muddle fresh mint or basil in the shaker before mixing for a refreshing garden note.

  • Berry Swap: Substitute raspberries with strawberries or blackberries for seasonal variety.

  • Royal Fizz: Replace soda with Prosecco or Cava for a richer, celebratory cocktail.

  • Non-Alc Version: Use non-alcoholic gin or skip the spirit altogether and boost with extra soda.

Food Pairings

The Raspberry Rose Fizz pairs beautifully with:

  • Light canapés like cucumber sandwiches or smoked salmon blinis.

  • Fresh salads — think rocket, pear, and walnut or citrus-dressed greens.

  • Desserts such as lemon tart, berry pavlova, or white chocolate mousse.

Its crisp, floral character makes it versatile across savoury and sweet courses.

A Toast to Refreshment

The Raspberry Rose Fizz proves that cocktails can be elegant, fun, and easy to craft at home. With its delicate floral aroma, berry brightness, and fizzy finish, it’s a drink made for celebrations big and small — or even just for treating yourself on a sunny afternoon.

So, grab your ingredients, chill your glasses, and shake up a cocktail that’s sure to impress.

The bartending community is a vibrant and supportive one, and I’m excited to build that community here on Shake, Sip, Serve.
